Who We Are

DeLucca Fence: Celebrating 50 Years of Safety Along the Road In April 1957, with a crew of four and a half-ton flatbed truck, founders Salvatore (Sam) and Joseph DeLucca started DeLucca Fence Company to design, build, and install fences and guard rails throughout New England. The brothers founded the company based on the principles of honesty, integrity, and pride in their workmanship. With twelve years of experience under their belts, they entered a market competing against well-established contractors. To succeed in such a market they knew they needed to establish their credibility quickly and build a reputation based on their workmanship.

Nothing could stop them from completing their first job installing 5,000 feet of fencing in North Hampton, Massachusetts. When their truck overheated on the way, they used water from a nearby river to get them back on the road. When another company declared bankruptcy, they stepped in to install 10,000 feet of fencing on Route 495 in Tewksbury. Operating in a Monday thru Friday industry, they worked on Saturdays to complete the job using workers from another fence company. Once on the job, they seized the opportunity to install 4,000 feet of guardrail, buying the tools, vehicles, and equipment they needed along the way. Since their competitors did not work in western Massachusetts, they quickly established DeLucca Fence in that market.

Within five years, DeLucca Fence became the “go to” company for fencing and guardrails. In fact, increased demand for their services created a need to hire a nine-man crew to complete the fencing on Braga Bridge in Fall River, Massachusetts.

After incorporating in 1966, the brothers entered the residential fencing market in 1972 working mainly on the North Shore of Massachusetts until the early 1990s. While Joe moved into the office in the early 1970s, Sam remained in the field until 1990. After the death of his father in 1987, James (Jim) DeLucca assumed Joe’s ownership. In 1991, Sam passed his ownership to his daughters Barbara and Janet.

DeLucca Fence has been keeping families safe along the road for fifty years. With more than 78 employees today, DeLucca Fence is one of the oldest and largest guardrail and fencing contractors in the region. Throughout the years, we have built a strong reputation as highway guardrail and fencing specialists, earning the respect of our peers, and frequent contracts with New England cities and states. Our safety record is unparalleled.

Barbara DeLucca-Rea serves as Vice President
With 30 years of construction experience, Barbara is responsible for internal and financial operations. She is an active member of the Methuen Board of Trade and serves on multiple committees at local organizations. Past Board of Director and Secretary of CIM.
James DeLucca as Treasurer
With 30 years of construction experience, James manages the commercial operations.
Janet DeLucca as Corporate Clerk
With 23 years of construction experience, Janet oversees the Accident Recovery Program.
